The Aftershock of Loss: A Grounding Meditation
Close your eyes.
Feel the weight of your body, the ground beneath you, the quiet support that is always there.
Take a deep breath in…
Hold it for a moment.
And let it go.
Loss is not just something that happened.
It’s something your body still carries.
Your brain, still searching for them in familiar places.
Your nervous system, still adjusting to an absence that doesn’t make sense.
You are not broken for feeling this way.
This is your mind rewiring.
This is your body learning how to exist in a world that has shifted beneath you.
Breathe in.
Feel the ache without rushing to fix it.
Breathe out.
Let go of the need to make sense of it all right now.
Notice the space around you.
The quiet.
The breath still moving through you.
You are not who you were before.
But you are still here.
Place your hand on your heart.
Feel the steady rhythm that remains.
Whisper to yourself:
"I do not have to be okay to be whole.
I do not have to rush this.
I am not who I was.
But I am still here."
Take one more breath in…
And as you exhale, soften into the truth that grief does not mean you are lost.
You are becoming.
When you’re ready, gently open your eyes.
